there are a lot of pretty interesting writings about his use of the self-portrait as a projection of his inner psyche. how he felt/saw himself. it's actually had a huge impact on my work. i'll try to find some of it and post. if i don't and you REALLY want to read it, let me know and i'll dig it up.
i love schiele too.
